Over the next several months I’ll be interviewing some of your
favorite authors, both the established and the up-and-comers, to
learn something about their road to publication and their writing
routines and processes. Check them out by visiting my
Spotlight Page.

I've recently discovered a liking for haikus. The classic 5-7-5
syllable construct appeals to my love of structure (I am a
math major after all), and the challenge of saying something
meaningful in such a brief burst is as irresistible as accepting a
dare from a friend.

One of my biggest fears is public speaking. I normally view
such "opportunities" much as a turkey does an invitation to
Thanksgiving dinner. However, when my high school alma mater
invited me to give the commencement address for the class of 2001 I
just couldn't bring myself to refuse such an honor. So, I found
myself waiting with nail-biting panic for the curtain call. I'm
glad to say I survived, and even managed not to trip on stage or
stutter too badly.
