March 2006:  I've been looking for new quotes to provide me with the motivation to push through my own roadblocks and get the things accomplished that really matter.  Here's another one on that theme.

"Conditions are never just right.  People who delay action until all factors are favorable are the kind who do nothing." -- William Feather

February 2006:  This month’s quote is another one I found in the ‘give yourself a kick in the butt’ category.  Procrastination is one of my biggest vices and I have to constantly push myself to get going.

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.” - Mark Twain

January 2006:  My first quote for the new year is one I use to remind myself that is is not the level of talent we have but the way in which we use it that truly reflects who we are.

"Use the talents you possess, for the woods would be silent if no birds sang except the best." -- Author Unknown

July 2005: I stumbled across the quote below a few weeks ago and it immediately became my new favorite. There are so many people who have been there for me, and continue to be there still, when I need encouragement or support or someone to share everyday triumphs and tragedies with. Mr. Adams expresses my feelings on the subject in such a simple yet eloquent manner.

"There is no such thing as a self-made man. We are made up of thousands of others. Everyone who has ever done a kind deed for us, or spoken one word of encouragement to us, has entered into the make-up of our character and of our thoughts, as well as our success."
--George Matthew Adams

May 2005:  I've picked two quotes this month, both of which speak to the concept that true failure, at it's heart, is not the lack of success at what you attempt, but in the giving up when faced with obstacles.  I was struck by how similar these quotes are given that they come from two such seemingly diverse personalities.

"This thing we call failure is not the falling down, it's the staying down."
--Mary Pickford

"Inside of a ring or out, ain't nothing wrong with going down.  It's the staying down that's wrong." -- Muhammad Ali

March 2005:  This month's selection is one I have taped above my computer.  It is there to remind me that you have to aggressively chase after your dreams if you want to make them come true.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do." -- Mark Twain

February 2005:  My first selection is one from Abraham Lincoln.  I've taken it as a personal motto for the year.  I'm the world's worst procrastinator and have missed out on tons of wonderful opportunities just because I let deadlines slide.  I'm determined to work on this fault in 2005.

"Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle."

January 2005: "Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle."
